Information for vets

What do I have to do to receive calls through you ?

Every day our staff updates all the information concerning the official on-call services for vets and the on-call vet in each region, both in Brussels and Flanders.

We also have an excellent software system that searches for availability of vets in real time.

Perhaps you have notified information concerning your practice’s availability on a Web site ; this may be your own or on various sites.

Why is it I am not receiving ANY calls through you ?

Every day our staff updates all the information concerning the official on-call services for vets and the on-call vet in each region, both in Brussels and Flanders.

We also have an excellent software system that searches for availability of vets in real time.

Maybe you don’t have a website or our search engine has trouble finding it.

What should I do if I would rather not receive emergency calls any more ?

If you have not requested us to circulate your details through our channels, it would be best to correct the information yourself on your own site and change (or have changed) the information about you on the Internet.

Our staff never just simply provides a number : they rely on information accessible to everyone online.

What should I do if I wish to respond to emergencies ?

First and foremost our operators rely on the information relating to your practice and accessible to the general public online. We also keep a list where only vets who have requested it are shown.

To appear on this list, just call us during office hours (press 3 at the start of the options menu). We will then take due note of your details and availability.

We get the impression that our on-call service has been forgotten...

All the on-call services approved by the NGROD (Dutch-speaking regional council of the Association of Veterinarians) are shown on our lists, but may be you are part of a “ private vet’s on-call answering service ”. This type of on-call service is never taken into account.

Almost all our callers have already called several different numbers and the last thing they want is to once again be put through to an answering machine.

Do you want your on-call service to be shown on our lists as well ? To do this just call us during office hours (press 3 at the start of the options menu).

How do I let you know I am temporarily unavailable ?

You call us during office hours (press 3 at the start of the options menu), and we will take due note of you changes of availability..

A pilot project under way enables you to change your availability in real time on our online platform. We are also putting the finishing touches to a system which enables sending an SMS (START/STOP) to an ordinary mobile number (so this is a non-paying SMS).

As a vet, do I have to pay ?

No, its the user – the customer – who pays for our services through his telephone bill. Even integration of complex on-call systems with reciprocal changes, including those for which the private vet is informed that a customer has called on our services, is totally free of charge for the vet. We appreciate the efforts that you make to help animals (or their master(s)) in distress at any time of the day or night.
